My life has been such a hustle and bustle after I came back from PG. First, LK was very busy with his on-call so most of the time he was not at home. Secondly, JX was expecting me to play with him all day long. Third, kindergarten searching for JX.
I spent 2 weeks driving round the neighbourhood to check out and also make some enquiries on the kindergartens. My initial plan was to send JX to the nearest one, which is within the walking distant. Anyway, after talking to the principal, I found out that the kindy is more like a playgroup and it’s more suitable for kids below 3 years old. So, LK and I decided to scrap the plan and look for other kindergartens.
The second nearest kindergarten is 10km away from our house. It was just opened last year. The environment is clean and presentable but quite pricey, the school fees is about RM10K per year for a half-day program (it’s not those well-established kindergarten like Smart Reader or Q-Dees). Anyway, after spending about 30 minutes talking to the person-in-charge (the very same person is also the teacher there), I was exceedingly underwhelmed.
So, I have to look for other kindergartens which are not within my neighbourhood, I have to face a 20-30 minutes drive each way (not including the morning traffic jam), twice a day. Not perfect or what we have planned but certainly doable.
I continued to visit few kindergartens in the next few days and finally I have found one which LK and I are more comfortable with. It’s a Montessori kindergarten (no homework and no exam). The school fees is RM370 per month for a half-day program. JX was very happy during our visit to this kindy, he happily joined the class activities and he has totally forgotten about daddy & mummy. So, we decided to registered JX in this kindy, he will start going to school in this coming April!
I was really tired after all these, I feel like I've hardly had a moment to breathe….I need some time for myself…
So, I picked a day where LK was on-call and I brought JX to Kid’s E World in mid valley, lucky him!
I asked JX to play somewhere around where I sat and I was very lucky that JX soon found another playmate there. They both played happily (for hours) at the slide in front of me and also the play area beside me. I just sat back, read book and relaxed. It was a perfect day, JX was very happy and I came home feeling so refreshed.

Needless to say, life is pretty good :)
