Earth hour March 2013

We went to Setia City Mall during this year Earth hour. The mall is located in Bandar Setia Alam, it is a certified green building. It took us around 45 minutes to reach there ( we ended up burning more fuel).  m(._.)m

The mall switched off all main lights for one hour during Earth hour. They also received tremendous support from the tenants as many of them switched off half of the shop’s lights (I spotted one shop which turned off all the lights despite there were still customers shopping inside). Anyway, after turning off so many lights in the mall, I felt it was a tad cold inside the mall. Maybe the management can increase the air-con temperature to further save energy during the next Earth hour.

A very nice mall, the ambience is so different compared to other malls in Klang Valley.

The photo below was taken during Earth Hour.

JX spent around 20 minutes during the Earth Hour watching the beautiful water fountain situated at the front door of the mall. There is a big children playground next to the water fountain but little one didn’t request to play.

Schoolbag

Earlier on, LK and I took the opportunity to let JX choose his schoolbag while we went shopping in Mid Valley. Anyway, it’s not well accepted. I was not sure whether it’s ‘Mickey problem’ or he just hated the schoolbag? He just said “No no no”.

DSCN1320

 DSCN1322 DSCN1323

“ I was scolded by mummy and daddy for throwing the schoolbag to the floor. I quickly put on a cute and innocent look to reduce the sentence.”

DSCN1347

“Mummy disguised as Elmo and said to me ‘let’s go to school with Elmo’, I found it more irritating and reply her with a big NO. Later I overheard mummy talking to daddy, something like give me a recycle bag to school will do. Bad bad mummy!”

Since then, LK and I stopped looking any schoolbags for the little one, we have concluded that JX hates schoolbag. Not until one day, I brought JX to MPH…little one spied a schoolbag, it’s ‘Thomas & Friends’ schoolbag. He loved it so much and he carried it on his shoulders by himself (the schoolbag was displayed at his eye level) and headed towards the exit. Anyway, the schoolbag is too big for his size plus mummy was holding some Jusco cash vouchers, thinking it will be nicer if we can get a schoolbag in Jusco. JX kept refusing and INSISTED on getting the ‘Thomas & Friends’ schoolbag. Looking at JX’s happy face, I finally bought him the schoolbag. And, little one insisted to carry the schoolbag on his back (with the price tag on) around the shopping mall until we went home.

After getting his favourite schoolbag, he is very positive about going to school, he keeps telling me that  he is going to school with Thomas.

Little night owl

JX dropped his afternoon nap quite some time already. He usually goes to bed at 1045pm and wake up around 930am (total of 11 hours sleep). This suits my “biological clock” very well because I am not a morning person.

Anyway, since JX is going to start his preschool this coming April so I have to adjust his sleeping time. He will have to wake up at 710am, re-pick-up his afternoon nap and be in bed by 930pm.

Today, I started to make the adjustment– Little one went to bed at 930pm (the night before) and was wakened up at 8am.

DSCN1389

“I behaved very well despite being waken up by mummy from my dreamland, no crankiness at all.”

Anyway, in the afternoon, little one refused to take a nap. He didn’t agree to go to bed on such a beautiful sunny day! With a teary face, he was asked to sit down and listen to mummy’s lecture.

DSCN1444DSCN1441

“WAAAA…I am not sleepy at all….what’s wrong with mummy today??”

JX continued to stay awake until 10pm (he refused to go to bed)….laying comfortably in the couch watching TV programmes…

DSCN1449

“ Mummy keeps on luring me to bed by praising how good an early bird is, but I just ignore her. The night is still young.”

Hhmm… should I be worried about him??

Family visit

Recently, my mother-in-law and hubby’s sister came to visit us. I kept it as a secret to the little one until they arrived at the doorstep….

Little one was very happy because ever since we were back from Penang, he always tells mummy that granny & 姑姑 live far far away in Penang.

DSCN1488DSCN1492

“ I took lots of photos with Ah Mah and 姑姑.”

  DSCN1504

“Daddy is working today so he doesn’t join us for lunch. I love the sweet and sour fish and keep on eating them. Later mummy found out that sweet sweet Ah Mah and 姑姑 were only munching veggie and intentionally leaving the whole bowl of sweet and sour fish + clay pot tofu for me. Hee hee hee…. it’s too late as I only left two pieces of fish for them! ”

DSCN1508

“ After lunch, we go window shopping and I continue to take lots of photos with Ah Ma.”

DSCN1510

“ There is a buy-1- free- 1 offer for Pringles potato chips and 姑姑 has bought one. Ah Mah tried to persuade mummy to give the extra free Pringles to me but mummy say no very firmly. ”

Choosing a kindergarten…

My life has been such a hustle and bustle after I came back from PG. First, LK was very busy with his on-call so most of the time he was not at home. Secondly, JX was expecting me to play with him all day long. Third, kindergarten searching for JX.

I spent 2 weeks driving round the neighbourhood to check out and also make some enquiries on the kindergartens. My initial plan was to send JX to the nearest one, which is within the walking distant. Anyway, after talking to the principal, I found out that the kindy is more like a playgroup and it’s more suitable for kids below 3 years old. So, LK and I decided to scrap the plan and look for other kindergartens.

The second nearest kindergarten is 10km away from our house. It was just opened last year. The environment is clean and presentable but quite pricey, the school fees is about RM10K per year for a half-day program (it’s not those well-established kindergarten like Smart Reader or Q-Dees). Anyway, after spending about 30 minutes talking to the person-in-charge (the very same person is also the teacher there), I was exceedingly underwhelmed.

So, I have to look for other kindergartens which are not within my neighbourhood, I have to face a 20-30 minutes drive each way (not including the morning traffic jam), twice a day. Not perfect or what we have planned but certainly doable.

I continued to visit few kindergartens in the next few days and finally I have found one which LK and I are more comfortable with. It’s a Montessori kindergarten (no homework and no exam). The school fees is RM370 per month for a half-day program. JX was very happy during our visit to this kindy, he happily joined the class activities and he has totally forgotten about daddy & mummy. So, we decided to registered JX in this kindy, he will start going to school in this coming April!

I was really tired after all these, I feel like I've hardly had a moment to breathe….I need some time for myself…

So, I picked a day where LK was on-call and I brought JX to Kid’s E World in mid valley, lucky him!

I asked JX to play somewhere around where I sat and I was very lucky that JX soon found another playmate there. They both played happily (for hours) at the slide in front of me and also the play area beside me. I just sat back, read book and relaxed. It was a perfect day, JX was very happy and I came home feeling so refreshed.

Smile : )

I've been so excited for the arrival of this “ Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel” from Nature Republic . I purchased it through this website- Qoo10 Malaysia .The price is 50% cheaper, including postage (shipped out from Korea), compared to the retail price at the outlet. This was my first online purchase and the goods arrived at my doorstep in a good condition. Overall, I had a good customer experience with this website.

Recently, the weather is hot and dry so I have been using the gel everyday since I’ve got it. Good product with a very good price. This is definitely my most satisfying purchase in a while!

Online article from facebook-

♥ Miso

When we were in PG, some of the relatives asked me how I celebrated JX’s birthday for the last 3 years? They were curious as they have never heard that I threw any birthday party for JX.

They reminded me that LK and I did plan to bring little one to Kid’s E World and also dinner at Hokkaido Ichiba@ The Gardens on his actual birthday. JX loves Japanese food,  he especially loves the miso soup and inari sushi. So, off we went to Hokkaido Ichiba after we came back to KL!

Home Sweet Home

Time flew so quickly that I felt CNY day 5 & day 6 disappeared on me in the blink of an eye. I didn't take many pictures as intended. Anyway, I really enjoyed every moment I spent with my family and friends. I felt like I got a good dose of motivation ( or inspiration) from all the people I met during CNY. All in all 2013 Chinese New Year has been a pretty good one!

Finally, we were back to our house on day 7 of CNY.

Posing time!

CNY Day4

We spent the morning at my mother-in-law’s house, later we dropped JX at my mum place. Little one was very happy, he waved goodbye to us and followed my mum into the house. He didn’t have separation anxiety at all….but it was mummy who felt uncomfortable after seeing this. Silly mummy kept on asking daddy “ Will JX be okay?” “Will JX miss us?” “Do you think later if he gets hungry, will he refuse to eat?”  bla bla bla… Seemed like it’s mummy who had separation anxiety!

Thanks to my parents for lending a hand to look after JX. LK and I managed to complete some tasks (which need to be done within the office hour) earlier than we expected. We also managed to sneak some time to enjoy a scrumptious lunch in Gurney Drive.  Later we picked up JX at my mum’s place, little one was very tired and dozed off in the car.

DSCN1163

“ Car seat has become my favourite sleeping place beside my bed. I will grab every opportunity to recharge myself before moving to the next destination.”

In the evening, we found out that there were no one at home (in my mother-in-law’s house) so we decided to join my sister’s family and my parents for dinner. All kids were having very good appetite.

After dinner, we went to All Seasons Place at Farlim for dessert.

We had our dessert here. ‘Teochew Chendul’ in Keng Kwee street is our family all time favourite.
